Brief Description

The West Virginia Consumer Drug Return Partnership (WVCDRP) began collecting consumer pharmaceuticals in 2008. Collection sites are established in pharmacies throughout the state to collect non-controlled substances. We use a medical waste disposal company to facilitate the collection and incineration of collected medications. Collection times are on-going and determined by pharmacy hours.

Collection Guidelines:
-Over-the-counter and prescription medications are accepted -Liquids, creams and ointments must be under 4 oz and in a sealed container
-Medicines are preferred in their original containers
-NO controlled substances (narcotics, illegal drugs)
-NO Sharps (syringes, needles, diabetic waste)
